The Emotion school
Natalie Ben David established her own business - Emotion - in Israel in 2002 and today it is one of the country's largest and most well-known life coaching school. I have learnt coaching from her.
Natalie developed the Satya Method (Satya means attentiveness in Sanskrit) out of her own personal experience. It is a unique, simple and revolutionary method, that lets people know themselves, love themselves and become closer to themselves so they can manage their lives and relationships with compassion and ease, in all aspects of their life.
The Satya Coaching Method
The following text is an extract from Natalie's material
Our philosophy is based on the study of being, language, and the connection between our emotions and consciousness. It begins with the idea that everything we experience is a result of our inner relationship with ourselves.
We believe that people have everything they need within themselves to be great – that they are capable, compassionate and open to communication. Our approach is to look at the aspects of their lives that do not work for them, or with which they are not emotionally satisfied e.g. career, money, weight, personal relationships etc.
We believe that that the areas in life that don’t work for you are a reflection of your emotional state and your relationship to yourself regarding those areas. We believe that by separating your circumstances from who you are, this gives you the opportunity to be the observer of your own life. Whilst you are observing, you can simply “be” with what you feel. Without running from it, fixing it, trying to resolve it, ignoring it, postponing it, blaming others for it, or resenting it.
Joy, love, happiness, compassion, wellbeing and effective communication are a result of the way we experience ourselves. They are not a result of what we have. Our philosophy is not goal-based. We do not believe you can transform something in the past or in the future, only something that is currently happening.
We look at important questions that each individual should ask himself over the course of his or her life. Questions such as “Am I going in the direction I want?” “Do I know myself?” “Do I know how to deal with my anger, frustration and sadness?” “Why am I suffering and can I transform this into wellbeing and peace of mind?” and “What is the connection between my body and my mind?”
Our philosophy is transformational– like switching on a light in a dark room. We believe that each and every person counts. If each of us takes a journey of transformation, It will give hope and direction not just to ourselves but to the world around us.
